Highland Triangle Shawl

Wowza I forgot to blog yesterday. I weeded, mopped, did laundry, knit and basically just plain forgot. Such an exciting life I lead how can you blame me? Anyway here is what I worked on while waiting for pattern clarification on the Colinette T…yes I will show a picture of it soon enough its just that the tam is sooooo seductive and they waited too long to get me started again so its pick up and knit a teensy weensy bit since my heart is with another project. Oh boy I digress. I worked on the Highland Triangle Shawl from Folk Shawls by Oberle and stopped after doing the center triangle knowing that I would be all gung ho to finish the border and edging if I started on them. Why why why didn’t I realize the tam would be just as addictive? Oh ya fair isle is not as seductive as lace IMB[ook] but this one is. Argh digressing again–you see where all my thoughts are these days!

I am using some stash silk/wool blend in a black tweed. Size 7 needles as opposed to the 8s called for but then the yarn is more sport weightish than aran weight called for. Its not as open as I would expect it to be given the difference in yarn diameter [nah I didn’t swatch its a shawl for heavens sake] but blocking will do the trick. Here is the center pattern closer up:
